Parity appoints CapGemini vice-president as new MD
~ Simon Wayne to head up Solutions division after 20 years in consultancy ~
October 2008
Parity, the IT and business solutions provider, has announced the appointment of Simon Wayne as the new Managing Director for the company’s Solutions division.
In his new role, Simon will lead a 200-strong team and will be responsible for turning over in excess of £25 million of business each year. Clients will include the Ministry of Defence, Cabinet Office and Charity Commission.
Simon steps into the role after more than twenty years in the IT and services field, with the past two spent at Parity heading up the Services division. Prior to that, he was at CapGemini for nineteen years, ten of which he spent as vice-president.
During his time with the global IT services firm, Simon worked across a variety of roles. He spent some time as a national sales director, led the wholesale banking and capital markets teams and was also head of the application product division. Other credits include running the professional services business and setting up and managing a senior bid support team for the company’s outsourcing business.
Simon arrives in his new role at Parity with significant industry expertise and knowledge of various market sectors. He will be responsible for leading the growth of the Solutions business in the UK by delivering IT projects and consultancy around collaboration, information management and graduate recruitment services.
"Simon is without doubt the right man at the right time for this role," said Alwyn Welch, CEO at Parity. "With such wide experience of business consultancy at the highest level, Simon has an outstanding track record that would be a welcome addition to any company in this space. Not only does he have a tremendous understanding of the business, he also has ambition and determination to grow the Solutions division even further."
"It’s an exciting time to take on the role of Managing Director," said Simon. "Parity has a great reputation in this industry, and I’m looking forward to driving business here in the UK. I believe that fears around current economic climate mean it’s more important than ever that we work with organisations to help them extract maximum value from their IT."
Simon will be responsible for overseeing the Solution division’s two main areas of business: delivering solutions based on Microsoft SharePoint, and building graduate programmes, a service which involves attracting and managing graduate applications to large organisations.
